Flooded Roundabout by Hampton Court Bridge
A number or residents have rasied concerns about the problem with drainage at the roundabout on the Molesey side of Hampton Court bridge. When it rains there is a large flooded area which does not drain away.
We have raised ths with officers at Surrey County Council (SCC), and they initially advised us that it would be dealt when their contractors visited Elmbridge at the end of July. Unfortunately this was not done, and the road by the roundabout was flooded again after the recent heavy rainfall.
SCC says this was on a list of 32 sites for the gully cleaner to visit inJuly, but that they did not get round to it because they were dealing with higher priority work, such as flooding affecting houses. SCC has advised that their contractors will not visit Elmbridge again until October, and that they will attempt to clear the gullies by the roundabout then.
This is obviously disapp;ointing. The situaion is dangerous because drivers aere swerving around the flooded area, often at speed., and we will continue to press SCC for more urgent action.
