Action to Protect the Local Riverside and Green Spaces

MRA Councillors and their partners in the coalition group running Elmbridge Council (EBC) are taking action to improve the protection of the riverside and the local green spaces in Molesey and throughout Elmbridge, and the Cabinet at EBC now plans to hold a public consultation on a green spaces Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in Elmbridge.

This will proivde additional protection against unauthorised moorings and overnight campiong along the river, both of which have become an increasing problem, and will also reduce the risk of wildfires.

The plan is to start a consultation on 21 February and run it for four weeks, giving local residents the opportunity to make their views known. It will be widely advertised on the Council’s website and social media and there will also be posters with details on the consultation.
