22/08/2017 – Waste Collection Services – Update
Following on from the horrendous problems local residents experienced over the first few months of the new waste services contract, Elmbridge Council has reported that the performance of the waste collection service in Elmbridge is now at a similar level to that experienced under the previous contract. That doesn’t mean that no collections are being missed, but any missed bins are generally now being picked up within one working day.
The Council recognises that there is still work to do to improve the level of service further, in line with contractual requirements and residents’ expectations, and the teams at Joint Waste Solutions and Amey are continuing to work to achieve that. Daily discussions are continuing to take place to identify issues and agree short, medium and long term actions in order to deliver sustainable improvements.
We are continuing to monitor progress closely, and in the meantime residents should continue to report any missed collections. This is best done using the Council’s online form or, if you do not have access to this, by telephone on 01372 474474.
