Prudential Ride London Events – 3 & 4 August
Prudential RideLondon is a two-day festival of cycling launched by the Mayor of London as part of his plan to create a long-term legacy from the 2012 Olympic Games. This annual action-packed festival will involve cyclists of all abilities, from first-timers to professional cyclists, showcasing iconic scenic routes and providing a wide range of spectator entertainment.
Events will take place in central London on Saturday 3 August and in both London and Surrey on Sunday 4 August and will comprise:
- Saturday 3 August: |Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle with up to 50,000 cyclists exploring an eight mile traffic-free loop in central London. |Prudential RideLondon Grand Prix showcasing junior events, hand-cycle racing and an elite women’s event on a closed road circuit in and around St James’s Park.
- Sunday 4 August: At |Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 20,000 amateur cyclists will take on a 100-mile challenge through the closed roads of London and Surrey before finishing on The Mall. (Note: This travels through Elmbridge.)
- Sunday 4 August: 150 of the world’s top cyclists will battle it out to win the inaugural |Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic. The 140-mile race will start at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park then head out into Surrey before returning to the capital to finish on The Mall. (Note: This travels through Elmbridge.)
